Xunpu village, located in Quanzhou, east China's Fujian Province, is a fishing village with unique folk customs. The village is famous for its “Xunpu Oyster Shell House” and “Xunpu women” who can often be seen shucking oysters to sell in the marketplace. The women of Xunpu, who are featured here wearing flowery headwear, traditional Chinese garments and wooden sabots represent the industrious Chinese women in Quanzhou.
