节目简介：

　　2019年第六个南京大屠杀死难者国家公祭仪式之后，南京大屠杀期间鼓楼医院外科医生威尔逊的后代来到了张纯如的祖籍淮安，见证张纯如中外人文交流研究中心的成立，并参观张纯如纪念馆。在撰写《南京浩劫：被遗忘的大屠杀》一书过程中，张纯如曾拜访威尔逊一家。威尔逊当年同家人的信件也成为了张纯如写作的重要素材。

　　该消息通过采访威尔逊医生的后人及张纯如中外人文交流中心负责人，回忆了威尔逊医生在南京大屠杀期间救治中国难民的感人事迹和张纯如为南京大屠杀发声所做出的卓越贡献。

　　Iris Chang was the author of the 1997 international best-seller: The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II. The book exposes the brutality committed by Japanese troops in Nanjing in 1937. After the National Memorial Service this year, the descendants of Dr. Robert Wilson came to Jiangsu's Huai'an city, the ancestral hometown of Iris Chang and paid their tribute to this marvelous author who was called the angel of justice.

　　On December 16, 2019, a group of special guests came to the Iris Chang Memorial Hall in Jiangsu's Huai'an city. They are the descendants of Dr. Robert Wilson, a surgeon with the Drum Tower Hospital in Nanjing during the Nanjing Massacre. After the National Memorial Service, the Wilsons came to Huai'an to unveil the Iris Chang People-to-People Exchange Research Center and paid a visit to the Iris Chang Memorial Hall.

　　Iris Chang's book - The Rape of Nanking, as the first book about Nanjing Massacre written in English, became a best-seller for quite some time, making this part of history known by the English-speaking world.

　　Dr. Robert Wilson stayed behind during the Nanjing Massacre in December 1937 to shelter and rescue many Chinese victims. He was also instrumental in the establishment of the Nanjing Safety Zone, which sheltered more than 200,000 people within its confined walls.

　　I was born on June 28th, 1937 and the Japanese were starting their march from Shanghai to Nanking. And then, the war just got worse and worse and my father said, "We have to get out of the country to be safe". He was gonna stay. He felt that it was his duty because he was born in China.

　　Dr. Robert Wilson's letters home during the massacre became the important source for Iris Chang to write her book The Rape of Nanking. Before the book was published, Iris Chang visited Wilson's family and interviewed Mrs. Wilson in 1993. During the visit, Marge Wilson unexpectedly found a picture of her mother with Iris Chang.

　　We had just been talking about it a couple of minutes before about the picture with Iris Chang and being at my home and talking with my mother who was at that time staying with us. And I turned around the corner and there she was. For a second, I looked at it and I thought that can't be, and there was my mother with Iris Chang.

　　I have to tell you that Iris Chang made the world a difference. My father never talked about it. My mother never talked about it. I knew there had been a war here and it had been terrible, but no details about anything. My brother and sister didn't even realize about a war.

　　You have so many things here that are just wonderful to see and bring to life her life, again, to realize what a wonderful person she was and how genius-level she write the word about the Rape of Nanking.
